Easy Air Fryer Chocolate Chip Cookies ( Perfect for the Freezer)
Jump to Recipe
A large cookie from a café or bakery can easily cost £1.50 or more. For less than £5, using supermarket own-brand ingredients, you can make an entire batch of these air fryer chocolate chip cookies at home.
They’re perfect for the air fryer, suitable for freezing and very useful when you’re trying to stick to a budget.
An Affordable Sweet Treat
Keeping a batch of cookie dough in the freezer can help when the children want something sweet or you fancy a warm cookie with your coffee.
Rather than popping out and spending money on individual treats, you can take out just the number of cookies you need. You’ll get a complete batch of homemade cookies for approximately the price of two or three large shop-bought ones.
Chocolate chips work perfectly, but you can also use crushed Mini Eggs, Smarties or other chocolate sweets. This makes the recipe useful for finishing open packets you already have.
Air Fryer Cookies You Can Freeze
Use a standard ice cream scoop to divide the prepared dough into balls. You can cook them immediately or freeze them for another day.
Once frozen, keep the cookie dough balls together in a freezer bag. Take out as many as you want, allow them to soften slightly and flatten them before cooking.
You can make smaller cookies using a smaller scoop, but remember that they will probably cook more quickly.
Adjusting the Time for Your Air Fryer
I made these in my Ninja air fryer using the Bake setting at 160°C for approximately eight to ten minutes. I prefer them set around the edges but still a little gooey in the middle.
Use this as a starting point because air fryers do vary. Your cookies may need slightly more or less time depending on your machine, their size and how firmly baked you like them.
Try cooking one or two first. You can then adjust the temperature or cooking time for the remainder of the batch.
The cookies will be very soft when they first come out. Transfer them carefully to a cooling rack and allow them to firm up before eating.
