Chocolate Fudge Brownies

This is a luxurious recipe. Cut into 12 or less if you wish.
Prep Time 30 minutes
Cook Time 25 minutes
Servings: 12 portions
Course: Dessert, Snack
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • half tsp vanilla essence
  • ½ cup melted chocolate
  • ¾ cup Plain flour
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • pinch salt

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to Fan Oven 175°C/195C conventional/350°F/Gas Mark 4
  2. Line a square cake tin with grease proof or parchment paper
  3. Cream the butter (melted) and sugar
  4. Mix the eggs and vanilla to the sugar and butter
  5. Melt the chocolate ( not the chips)
  6. Let the chocolate cool (just a little so it doesn't ruin the eggs)
  7. Mix the chocolate in
  8. Add the flour, cocoa powder and pinch of salt
  9. Add the chocolate chips
  10. Bake for 25 minutes in a preheated oven.
  11. Check with skewer to see if it is baked. If it comes out wet but without mixture attached it is baked. If it is still sticking to the skewer it is not ready yet. Watch it carefully if you choose to bake for any longer than the recipe states, as it can get hard very quickly and you don't want that! They should be moist and fudgy. Enjoy!

Notes

These brownies will keep fresh for days.
These brownies will handsdown beat anything you can buy anywhere else so be prepared to bake these brownies often. In all seriousness, learn to add variations to these brownies and you will have a dessert for every occasion all year long.
Pay close attention to the measurements and temperature. These brownies can be a little temperamental if you stray from the measurements. They could easily over bake and become dry so, pay close attention to the timings and your oven temperature gauge.
